Hello, brothers and sisters!

This is the first of what will be weekly bites of encouragement from Evangelism Minister Frank Mickens.

Take these as food to fuel your own ministry to the lost and broken.

I pray it will bless your soul!

Proverbs 3:3

“Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:”

This scripture from the book of Proverbs encourages us to tie mercy and truth around our necks and write them on our hearts.

What I’m getting from this scripture is this:

We have to always remember God has mercy and he is full of truth.

This is nutrition for us when we fail.

That means you always remember that he will not throw us away because we’re not perfect.

But it is also a reminder for us that God doesn’t take short cuts – that we are to take his word at face value and not add anything to it or take anything from it.

These principles provide safety for us and security and peace.

We’re not to live our lives like we’re tossing on waves. We are to be emotionally stable and secure in the arms of Christ.

The fact that the Bible tells us to write mercy and truth on our hearts indicates that we’re to have a perpetual connection to these principles. We can not afford to lose them.

That’s just how important they are!

Without revelation about God’s mercifulness, we can find ourselves depressed because we can’t get things right.

Without submitting to God’s truth we can find ourselves living in a way that does not give glory to God and in fact, is hurting us and the people that we love.

Evangelists are to live in purity or we can not be effective.

It’s vital that we allow God to convict us and turn away from sin.

It’s just as vital that we allow God to release us from our mistakes and that we don’t hold on to them.

We have to maintain a balance so that we can always seek God with our whole heart. You don’t want to hide from Him when you fail. We don’t want to run away from his truth.

We want to exalt his truth and share it with others!

Be encouraged today that you are a part of God’s perfect plan! And that mercy and truth are always available.

Our Father which art in heaven, my prayer is that we will always seek a perfect peace. And then we will live in the center of your love. So that we can experience that love in the fullness thereof and share it with people so that they might be transformed and renewed in their minds. Save us all God from ourselves. And show us how to help you save others.

In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen!
