FROM COWARD TO COURAGE

Looking at the character and person of Simon Peter, I believe we can learn a lot about facing the impossible – or better yet, facing ourselves – our fear.

Human nature, by default, loves acceptance.

But what happens when the need for acceptance means joining the crowd? Especially when the crowd is in error?

Peter exhibits what we’re prone to do at the exact moment Jesus is facing judgment from the Jews before he was committed to death on the cross.

Just as Peter was watching this happen, he was being asked to identify himself as a follower of Christ.

So, let’s get this straight.

At the exact moment Jesus was being smitten and spat upon, you mean people wanted Peter to align himself with Jesus?

That’s just the way it is.

And what Peter did is what most of us do.

He denied he even knew Jesus!

Jesus had prophesied that Peter would deny him. But Peter promised he would never do such a thing. Sounds like most of us on Sunday morning or at prayer meeting.

The fact is, our faith is tested when we’re asked to acknowledge Jesus when it’s not convenient. When we can lose something.

But we have to realize, that’s when our faith is most verified by the onlooker. They may not agree. But they’ll know that we believe what we believe – no matter what!

I’m praying that we all have a moment like Peter did when he realized he had forsaken the Lord.

The bible says Peter “wept bitterly” when he remembered his previous zeal and Jesus’ prophesy that Peter would fold like a house of cards.

That’s what we need.

We need to wake up to how we’ve denied him.

You want change?

You want revival?

You want family members saved?

Don’t deny Jesus – at any cost.

The most glorious part about it is we have more power when we have that kind of faith.

The same Peter who “chickened out” before the rooster crowed, is the same Peter who boldly proclaimed Jesus was the Christ prophesied in scripture in Acts chapter 2.

That bold sermon, after his transition from sorrow to strength, brought 3,000 people into the body of Christ!

And the Lord said we would do “greater works!”

Be bold and expect a harvest.

Blessings,

WHAT IS TRUTH?

Credit: Master isolated images

The question was asked by the leader of the Romans who was looking Jesus Christ in the face.

“What is truth?” asked Pontius Pilate.

He was responding to the assertion by Jesus that he came to reveal the truth. Which is ironic, since Jesus IS the truth. He represents everything that is good and right. He separates fact from fiction.

Jesus came to set the captives free.

You see, we are all captives of our own sin. We can’t help but make mistakes that hurt people we care about and hurt ourselves.

What is the answer?

Jesus says he is “the Way the Truth and the Life!”

Choosing to have faith in Jesus represents a choice to live in God’s will.  And there is no other path to the TRUTH.

Jesus said in John 14:6, “no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Think about it.

Jesus is God’s only Son. He is God in the flesh.

If God came down HIMSELF to die on a cross and then be RESURRECTED – why do we need any other path.

Obviously, He has done all the work with that one MAJOR step that can not be surpassed.

Just as Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.”

So back to the question, “WHAT IS TRUTH?”

Philosophers can bat this question around for eternity and never come to a conclusion.

That – IS WHY WE NEED GOD.

He eliminates confusion. By faith in Him, we can get all the assurance we need.

How do we know truth? And how does God present truth?

In his Word.

The bible says in John 17:17 – “your word is truth.”

That’s Jesus speaking and praying to God for … US!

He prayed for us to recognize that is only God’s word that brings truth. Outside the bible, we are confused and trying to gain answers ourselves.

Let’s put it this way…

Who knows the CREATION better than the CREATOR?

We can’t argue with God because He knows it all!

We all ask, why does God allow this? Why does God allow that?

Well, He’s not out to confuse us. It’s all in the bible.

Truth is communicated just like any other information. IT HAS TO BE COMMUNICATED FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE CREATION.

So God communicates through His word.

It’s insurmountable.

Undeniable.

It’s 100% accurate.

Search anywhere.

There are no inaccuracies. Zero!

God knows how to talk to us. I encourage you to get to know Him through His word.

And don’t be afraid of failure… What do you have to lose?

You know the way you’re going doesn’t work. So why not?

I can testify, you won’t be disappointed.

To follow Jesus, just say this prayer:

“Lord, I give you my life. I believe you are who you say you are. You did not lie. I’m in need of a Savior, because I can’t live a life free of sin without you. Your sacrifice did all the work. I give you my heart and I will serve you. I trust you Lord and I turn away from my old ways. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!”

It’s that simple.

Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is who he says he is, you are saved!

Now watch how he takes residence in your heart and changes your perspective on EVERYTHING!

I encourage you to join a church and follow the teachings of the Bible. God’s word is our food according to Matthew 4:4.

Get into the word. It will change your life and wipe away all the tears, fear, pain and disappointment.

Welcome to the family of God!

Bless you brother!

Bless you sister!

Salvation is HERE!

GUILTY? ASHAMED? WHAT A GREAT TIME FOR A SAVIOR!

This video is not a video of condemnation.

The gospel is not a message of condemnation.

It’s a message of peace! It’s a message of joy!

Oh, the joy of a life with Christ Jesus!

He is the dayspring! He brings newness of life and a new perspective.

A life without guilt and condemnation, but continual growth and peace in Him.

Because He did all the work on the cross…

“It is finished.”

You can be part of the family with this simple prayer:

“Lord, I give you my life. I believe you are who you say you are. You did not lie. I’m in need of a Savior, because I can’t live a life free of sin without you. Your sacrifice did all the work. I give you my heart and I will serve you. I trust you Lord and I turn away from my old ways. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!”
