DO YOU LOVE JESUS?

John 14:15 KJV

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Yeah, let that one soak in.

This scripture is not meant to make you feel bad.

It’s meant to make you feel.

Jesus spoke these were words.

The savior who died for us. He never sinned, but took our sins upon him.

2 Corinthians 5:21

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

So he had cachet. He has sway. He has the right to require this of us.

So the question becomes…

Do you LOVE Jesus?

This verse says the way we show the Lord we love him is by doing what he says.

Because we trust him.

Because we surrender.

I want to say something I hope is just as profound to you as it was for me.

God doesn’t tell us to do stuff because He can or because He’s just hard on us.

He tells us what to do because He cares.

John 15:10

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

He wants to protect us from disappointment and pain.

He wants to guide us into a fruitful and beneficial future.

But most of all, He’s showing us how to have a real relationship with our daddy.

Our creator.

God himself.

He wants that more than anything!

How do I know?

Because God came down from a comfortable seat in heaven to rescue us from our innate sinful wretched nature.

To save us from the stuff we’re ashamed of.

Romans 8:1-2

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

He would rather tell us the truth and have us struggle with it.

Better than never telling us the truth.

I want to invite you to do something radical.

And this time it will be worth it.

I want to ask you to take a chance and ask Jesus to take over your life.

This requires you to embrace the feeling you get when you read the scripture at the top of this page.

Do you love Jesus?

If not, cool!

Because all it takes is you giving in to the guilt.

You can ask forgiveness from God and He will respond.

1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

But then the rubber has to meet the road.

Ask Him to help you do what He asks.

Love Him just like He loved you on that cross.

Give in to the rapture of His consuming love knowing full well you won’t be disappointed this time.

You can pray this prayer:

Father, you alone are God. I need you in my life. Please forgive me for my sins (you can list whatever sins are on your heart. Even the worst stuff). I turn away from my old life and I want to love you. I want to feel your love. Come into my heart Jesus. I’m yours.

If you pray that prayer and mean it, you’re saved!

Read the bible. I recommend the gospel of John first.

Join a church to learn and be molded by experienced Christians.

And your life will never be the same!

God bless you!

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Ever noticed how funny it looks when someone has really big wheels on a little car? You know how people put those big wheels on a Honda Civic?

Have you ever found yourself asking the question, “Where is that person going?”

And a lot of times you see them driving really fast or trying to drive fast in an older model vehicle with a loud muffler.

So not only is their behavior  quizzical, you also  wonder where they’re going. You wonder why are they making such a fuss and bringing attention to themselves when their vehicle is really worn out?

We can be the same way in our walk with Jesus Christ. A lot of time we are worn out and tired and really don’t know what we’re doing.

We try to go about life without praying about our decisions, without spending time with God – and the result is we look out of whack. It may not look that way to everyone else, but it looks like that to God because He knows where we’re supposed to be and He knows what’s best for us.

The funniest thing about that is if we’re going to church and read our bible every once in a while, we can convince ourselves that we look  just fine – like the Honda Civic. except were allowed and we’re making noise for no good reason. we’re not walking in love we don’t share the gospel of Jesus Christ with humility we judge others and all around we just don’t look like Jesus which means we just don’t look right.

I’m sharing this with you because that’s how I feel about myself right now.

Sure, I read the bible I go to church thing but I haven’t been giving got my best.

And the result is I feel frustrated angry far from god and generally on settled. There is no peace.

And even beyond that I really don’t know where I am going. And that’s because I’m not getting my instructions or my road map from the source and that is Jesus Christ.

If you’re frustrated. If you feel like you’re confused about where your life is going. Or you just angry because you feel like God doesn’t exist or God doesn’t love you, then you probably haven’t been seeking him with all of your heart.

And the bible declares when we seek Him with all of our heart that he will respond.

So my prayer is that we all would take some time to examine ourselves and be honest with ourselves and ask the Lord to draw near to us closer.

And the point of the matter is if we call Him and we decide to be closer with you then we will find Him!

If you feel your life is hopeless or it seems that there’s nothing good, I want you to know the bible declares God has plans for your life and they are good and not evil.

In fact,  if you pray and ask the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and you repent of your sins (that means you turn away from your ways) and you declare that you’re gonna follow Him — you will find your life will change in every way.

So pray this prayer with me: “Lord Jesus, I’m sorry for all the things I’ve done that don’t please you. But I am determined, Lord, to turn my life around and not do it with my own strength and out of my own pride, but to do it by listening to your truth. Lord, I ask you into my heart, for you to take the reigns and take control and steer me in the direction you want me to go. And I believe that you will take me out of every foul situation and every foul way of thinking and bring me into your bosom and a place of true peace and holiness and rest. It is in the name of Jesus Christ that I pray. Amen.

Go in his peace and praise God!

FINISH STRONG!

The bible talks about how Jesus learned obedience by the things that he suffered.

And when you think about that, it’s basically saying that Jesus’ power was rooted in suffering!

Jesus told us that the servant is not greater than his master. So that means we should expect suffering and it talks about that over and over again in scripture.

So we need to be encouraged that when we’re going through things are overwhelming,  God is taking us through the fire so we can be more and more useful to his purposes.

I started thinking about this this morning when I was running in the park. I noticed the Lord was speaking to me about how it’s not about how fast I went.

It was more important that I did not give up and finished my race – or finished my course.

I had to keep my eye on the finish line.

We don’t always know where the finish line is. But we need to know that God wants to make us better for His use so that we can bring people to His grace and his knowledge and his salvation.

The book of Hebrews talks about how Jesus “for the joy that was set before him” went through what we went through on the cross. And think about it – he said “it is finished!” So he’s run the ultimate race and finished already for us! So he’s done all the hard work! What we’re doing is dying to ourselves so that we can be more like him when he died and became powerful even unto salvation.

And you can’t look at your feet or look at the ground when you’re running. It will always slow you down. So in the same way, as you’re going through what you’re going through, keep your head up!

Be confident! And you’ll be more focused on the race and not so much on your pain.

If we’re going to see revival in our families, and our neighborhoods and in the world, we’re going to have to die so that we can be more like Christ and shine his light without us getting in his way.

I bless God for you and pray His peace and grace over you and your ministry to the world.

WE SURRENDER!

LOVE TASTES GREAT!

We often hear the scripture in Psalms 34:8 at church.

And it is guaranteed to get applause, even the occasional shout.

It reads:

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

We often think of this as an opportunity to think on how Jesus has brought us through trials – how he has ransomed us out of the vice grip of sin.

But I want to stir up your spirit to think about how his taste should thrust us into a life of full-fledged evangelism.

Ever been afraid or apprehensive to preach the gospel?

Ever shuttered or paused to speak the name of Jesus in certain circles?

Well, I want to encourage you to pour out your heart to whoever you feel led. You know why it’s okay? Because His love tastes better than any acceptance or positive response by your friends or relatives.

Let me show you how I know this.

Romans 8:38-39 NLT

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Here’s Paul’s point.

If we focus on how much Jesus loves more than what people think of us, we will never fear anything!

Speak about how good Jesus is!

Don’t keep it to yourself!

And if you haven’t experienced his goodness, leave a comment and we can talk.

In short, Jesus gave up his glory in heaven as the Son of God to come to earth.

And he came for this reason.

He had to serve as the only sinless and perfect sacrifice to take the punishment of our sins on himself. (Philippians 2:6-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

And he rose from the dead so we can not only be saved, but live in abundant LIFE! (Romans 8:11; John 10:10)

So now we can be friends with God. We can know Him. (John 15:13-15)

I know Him! How cool is that? After all I’ve done?

O taste and see Jesus is good and don’t be afraid to accept him or proclaim him!

His love tastes so good, nothing can surpass it. So eat Jesus’ love more than you eat the acceptance of man.

Bless you in Jesus’ name.

WHAT IS TRUTH?

Credit: Master isolated images

The question was asked by the leader of the Romans who was looking Jesus Christ in the face.

“What is truth?” asked Pontius Pilate.

He was responding to the assertion by Jesus that he came to reveal the truth. Which is ironic, since Jesus IS the truth. He represents everything that is good and right. He separates fact from fiction.

Jesus came to set the captives free.

You see, we are all captives of our own sin. We can’t help but make mistakes that hurt people we care about and hurt ourselves.

What is the answer?

Jesus says he is “the Way the Truth and the Life!”

Choosing to have faith in Jesus represents a choice to live in God’s will.  And there is no other path to the TRUTH.

Jesus said in John 14:6, “no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Think about it.

Jesus is God’s only Son. He is God in the flesh.

If God came down HIMSELF to die on a cross and then be RESURRECTED – why do we need any other path.

Obviously, He has done all the work with that one MAJOR step that can not be surpassed.

Just as Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.”

So back to the question, “WHAT IS TRUTH?”

Philosophers can bat this question around for eternity and never come to a conclusion.

That – IS WHY WE NEED GOD.

He eliminates confusion. By faith in Him, we can get all the assurance we need.

How do we know truth? And how does God present truth?

In his Word.

The bible says in John 17:17 – “your word is truth.”

That’s Jesus speaking and praying to God for … US!

He prayed for us to recognize that is only God’s word that brings truth. Outside the bible, we are confused and trying to gain answers ourselves.

Let’s put it this way…

Who knows the CREATION better than the CREATOR?

We can’t argue with God because He knows it all!

We all ask, why does God allow this? Why does God allow that?

Well, He’s not out to confuse us. It’s all in the bible.

Truth is communicated just like any other information. IT HAS TO BE COMMUNICATED FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE CREATION.

So God communicates through His word.

It’s insurmountable.

Undeniable.

It’s 100% accurate.

Search anywhere.

There are no inaccuracies. Zero!

God knows how to talk to us. I encourage you to get to know Him through His word.

And don’t be afraid of failure… What do you have to lose?

You know the way you’re going doesn’t work. So why not?

I can testify, you won’t be disappointed.

To follow Jesus, just say this prayer:

“Lord, I give you my life. I believe you are who you say you are. You did not lie. I’m in need of a Savior, because I can’t live a life free of sin without you. Your sacrifice did all the work. I give you my heart and I will serve you. I trust you Lord and I turn away from my old ways. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!”

It’s that simple.

Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is who he says he is, you are saved!

Now watch how he takes residence in your heart and changes your perspective on EVERYTHING!

I encourage you to join a church and follow the teachings of the Bible. God’s word is our food according to Matthew 4:4.

Get into the word. It will change your life and wipe away all the tears, fear, pain and disappointment.

Welcome to the family of God!

Bless you brother!

Bless you sister!

Salvation is HERE!

GUILTY? ASHAMED? WHAT A GREAT TIME FOR A SAVIOR!

This video is not a video of condemnation.

The gospel is not a message of condemnation.

It’s a message of peace! It’s a message of joy!

Oh, the joy of a life with Christ Jesus!

He is the dayspring! He brings newness of life and a new perspective.

A life without guilt and condemnation, but continual growth and peace in Him.

Because He did all the work on the cross…

“It is finished.”

You can be part of the family with this simple prayer:

“Lord, I give you my life. I believe you are who you say you are. You did not lie. I’m in need of a Savior, because I can’t live a life free of sin without you. Your sacrifice did all the work. I give you my heart and I will serve you. I trust you Lord and I turn away from my old ways. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!”
