I have good news!

You were never meant to be perfect!

You are perfect justice way you are!

That is not to say we can live how we want and please God.

The bible is clear.

We can only please God if we have faith.

But here’s where His love comes in!

Think about a newborn baby.

When it shows up we are enamored. We can’t help but adore the perfectly sweet and cute and delightful “Mini-Me.”

It’s the same way with God. He made you. So He loves YOU!

And He only makes perfect stuff.

Here’s where our idea of perfect needs to change.

We are perfect because God wanted us to have flaws and still find love.

He could only prove He is love through giving His love to the seemingly unloveable.

We are PERFECT for His plan of revealing His true nature as a LOVING FATHER.

We were created to fall.

We were created to cry out.

And we were created to find God like no other creature in history.

The Angels who fell with satan didn’t have the chance of redemption.

But they are part of God’s perfect plan of redemption.

They tempt us to sin and try to cause us to fall away from God.

But He still reaches out with grace to love us anyway when we put our faith in Him as our sole source of salvation.

You can only experience true love through forgiveness.

Because if someone only loves you because of what you do for them – they’ll soon learn you make mistakes to and they’ll be gone.

Thank God He’s not like that!

He calls you flawless in scripture. He sees Himself as your spouse.

He’s dedicated to loving you perfectly.

And how else could He express that perfect love except when you make mistakes?

Be encouraged brother and sister.

You are loved.

And you are adored by the God of perfection.

He’s never made a mistake – especially when He made YOU.

God bless you.

Are You Willing To Hurt To Fulfill Your Purpose?

1 John 3:16 NLT

“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

The principle is this: love hurts.

Think about it this way, what is a friend who is only around when times are good?

I encourage you to be a true friend, to shine the light of Jesus.

He loved by giving everything!

The scripture implores us to love and live the same way.

If you have a friend or an aquaintance who is down and out, give.

Give your time, your energy, your listening ear, your heart – and their situation will change.

Love until it’s uncomfortable.

It’s what Jesus did.

And think about it.

What if God told you He loves you and He never did anything for you.

He’s not like that.

Neither should we.

And that goes for serving the Lord as well. The truth is, God is going to ask you to give up some things (personal dreams, relationships, job, money) in order to put you on His path to peace and fulfillment.

We all have a choice. We can choose the short-term satisfaction of doing it our way (which leads to ultimate disappointment and pain) or we can choose short-term to be in return for long-term and lasting joy.

It’s the same struggle we have with salvation.

Do we live how we want at the cost of eternal life?

Or do we choose Jesus, and the short-term discomfort of transitioning to a life ordered by God’s design and His word.

If we can make the initial choice to accept Jesus Christ at a cost, we have already been empowered to give up anything else it takes to live out our purpose.

I’m chasing after God as I chase after my life’s work.

Will you join me?

We find it so easy to trust what everybody else is doing when it has no lasting effect.

Just think about the trendy diets as a perfect example.

But for an even better example, let’s talk about driving.

I’ve written before about how I’ve made the decision to drive no faster than the speed limit. I mean, it is the law. Right?

Not only is it RIGHT, but it will save me money (gas, no tickets 🙂  ) and it will protect me from being hurt.

Now, my decision impacts other drivers in a good way as well.

I’m not as much a danger to them and I become an example of proper and safe driving. This is particularly beneficial to young drivers,  buy everyone else as well.

With all that good stuff, I’m sure it doesn’t surprise you that my driving is also rubbing people the wrong way.

They don’t see my example as much as they see how it doesn’t mesh with their determination to drive how they want to drive.

‘What’s wrong with this guy?” they ask.

“Doesn’t he see how everybody else is driving 10 miles OVER the speed limit, at least!”

“Speed up or get out of my way!”

Human mature is to find it hard to believe what submit to what someone else is doing when it does have eternal value – when it costs us something.

Many who don’t want to believe in Jesus may struggle with the thought they will have to give up their way of living – the way they WANT to drive.

If that’s your concern, be at peace. God is our Father. He knows what’s best for us. His “rules” are just His way of keeping us from hurting ourselves and hurting others.

He’s the ultimate Highway Patrolman. He wants us to be safe.

Just like some people can’t believe in the rules of the road, some people can’t seem to understand why so many millions of people do understand. God and Jesus are real!

And so is death.

So to make a decision NOT to believe, is to make a decision to accept death.

Except for one problem.

Jesus came so that you could have LIFE! (John 10:10)

I appeal to you to give Jesus a try. You don’t have to be perfect, just human.

And all it takes is a conversation and Jesus will turn your life around!

Pray with me:

Lord Jesus, I’ve tried things my way. And I just don’t have peace. I can’t trust myself to get it right. So now, I’m trusting you! I confess I’m a sinner. But I know I don’t have to be ashamed. You took the punishment for my sins on the cross. And I believe you’re alive today. That’s why I’m talking to you right now. Jesus I want to be in your family. I ask for your forgiveness and I accept it. I forgive myself. Now lead me in your will. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Bless you brother!

Bless you sister!

He’s your God and your daddy! Bless you Jesus for bringing us home to daddy!

We often hear the scripture in Psalms 34:8 at church.

And it is guaranteed to get applause, even the occasional shout.

It reads:

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

We often think of this as an opportunity to think on how Jesus has brought us through trials – how he has ransomed us out of the vice grip of sin.

But I want to stir up your spirit to think about how his taste should thrust us into a life of full-fledged evangelism.

Ever been afraid or apprehensive to preach the gospel?

Ever shuttered or paused to speak the name of Jesus in certain circles?

Well, I want to encourage you to pour out your heart to whoever you feel led. You know why it’s okay? Because His love tastes better than any acceptance or positive response by your friends or relatives.

Let me show you how I know this.

Romans 8:38-39 NLT

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Here’s Paul’s point.

If we focus on how much Jesus loves more than what people think of us, we will never fear anything!

Speak about how good Jesus is!

Don’t keep it to yourself!

And if you haven’t experienced his goodness, leave a comment and we can talk.

In short, Jesus gave up his glory in heaven as the Son of God to come to earth.

And he came for this reason.

He had to serve as the only sinless and perfect sacrifice to take the punishment of our sins on himself. (Philippians 2:6-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

And he rose from the dead so we can not only be saved, but live in abundant LIFE! (Romans 8:11; John 10:10)

So now we can be friends with God. We can know Him. (John 15:13-15)

I know Him! How cool is that? After all I’ve done?

O taste and see Jesus is good and don’t be afraid to accept him or proclaim him!

His love tastes so good, nothing can surpass it. So eat Jesus’ love more than you eat the acceptance of man.

Bless you in Jesus’ name.

This video is not a video of condemnation.

The gospel is not a message of condemnation.

It’s a message of peace! It’s a message of joy!

Oh, the joy of a life with Christ Jesus!

He is the dayspring! He brings newness of life and a new perspective.

A life without guilt and condemnation, but continual growth and peace in Him.

Because He did all the work on the cross…

“It is finished.”

You can be part of the family with this simple prayer:

“Lord, I give you my life. I believe you are who you say you are. You did not lie. I’m in need of a Savior, because I can’t live a life free of sin without you. Your sacrifice did all the work. I give you my heart and I will serve you. I trust you Lord and I turn away from my old ways. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!”

It’s that simple.

Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is who he says he is, you are saved!

Now watch how he takes residence in your heart and changes your perspective on EVERYTHING!

I encourage you to join a church and follow the teachings of the Bible. God’s word is our food according to Matthew 4:4.

Get into the word. It will change your life and wipe away all the tears, fear, pain and disappointment.

Welcome to the family of God!

I’m beginning to realize how prime we are to do what’s easy as opposed to what’s powerful.

Let me tell you point blank:

Jesus tells an interesting story about the end of days in Matthew 25.

He says when the saved folks are separated from those who are not saved, He will say something quite shocking to BELIEVERS.

It is at that critical moment – both joyous and terrifying – that Jesus will tell BELIEVERS how they let Him down.

Jesus will say every time we failed to do our best for others it was like we we were withholding our best from Him!

Matthew 25:42-43

“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. ”

Every time we have the ability to bless but:

-We don’t feed the hungry

-We don’t visit the sick

-We don’t visit the prisoner

-We don’t clothe the needy

-We don’t take in the stranger

It’s like we’re doing it to Christ.

So here is a radical idea.

We are all God’s children.

He loves us all the same.

And He calls us to love one another.

I believe this kind of radical love is the stuff revivals are made of.

Revolution needs your love.

And you have plenty of love to give.
